   Amazon was the best price for this product, stock of which is apparently non existent in the sheds.Delivery was very prompt and the item arrived in good condition. Most impressed. Just want better weather now to use it.

   If you have plenty of time and can manage to cut the grass every three days then the cut quality is very good (if the blade shear edge is adjusted correctly) however with a weeks worth of growth the cut is poor as it tends to flatten the grass rather than comb it prior to cutting. The collection bin fills far too quickly and is sprinkled in rather than compacted. It is also in the wrong place being at the front, this tends to get in the way. The plastic is flimsy, when the collection bin fills it bends the height adjustment lowering the cut height scalping the lawn. The motor struggles with grass thats had a week or more growth. All in all for the money I would give this a miss as it feels cheap. I also bought a Flymo lawn rake and was very impressed in fact I couldn’t believe the difference in quality and the over all feel and would suggest looking Flymo. Hope this helps

   I feel guilty in not giving this mower a 5!

   I feel 4.5 would be a fairer mark.

   I compared it with a number of previous larger mowers (I now have a much smaller lawn) I also had mowers with a heavy roller that gave good stripes.

   This mower given overall considerations is excellent and as would be expected from a cylinder mower gives a far superior cut tha a rotary mower.

   1) Grass box on front is sort of loosely hooked on. Any vibration from the motor, or bouncing as you mow… causes the box to fall off. If you nudge against a hedge or plant etc, the box falls off AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. To grip the box when taking it off… your hands are less than 5″ from the blades !!!

   2) Grass box capacity is NEVER 23 litres – because of the shallow angle it barely holds 10L of grass – that means you have to stop & empty every 20M of cutting. You are forever starting & stopping.

   3) Sound is an irritating high pitched dentist drill whining – and because the cut is so narrow you are at it for ages. Get some ear defenders to help.

   4) height adjusters are a joke – choice of bald (12mm!!), patchy, or too long.

   5) you cant see where you are mowing (to make sure you are not leaving uncut lines) because cutting width is 32cm, but mower body is around 50cm wide . Also, this means you cant get close to anything sideways.

   6) turning at the end of a run (so you can do the stripy thing) is a laborious 3 point turn (plus the box falls off) – the mower is just too long (the grass box & handles stick out a LONG way) – This is why PROPER cylinder mowers are quite short & upright.

   After 6 months I wrote to Qualcast – they didnt reply. I hated mowing with it so much I junked it & got a 2nd hand hover mower instead – much, much better.
